Track Santa with NORAD

norad santa

This year, Google has teamed up with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to ... track Santa Claus. Every five minutes, Santa’s progress in delivering all the precious packages around the world is updated on the Google Map.

According to a short video on the map, NORAD has confidently calculated that Santa and his reindeers travel at around 100 times the speed of the “shinkansen” bullet train in Japan.

A quick check tells me that it means Santa travels at around ... 3000 kmph. That is MACH 2.4. These reindeers must be on amphetamines. No wonder Rudolph has a red nose that glows.

Last time I checked, he was somewhere over Russia.

Track Santa on the NORAD site and see if he’s anywhere near you :)

Happy Christmas & best wishes for 2008 !
